Photovoltaic Mastery Package is a comprehensive training experience of 70 hrs to equip you to become a specialist in photovoltaic systems.

 

This package includes the following courses:

Introduction to Solar Power Systems (EE200). (20hrs)

The EE200  intensive training course is designed to help individuals understand the fundamentals of solar energy systems from scratch. No experience required. It covers a wide range of topics, including: the fundamentals of solar energy, types of solar energy systems, electricity fundamentals, system sizing principles, and the design of photovoltaic systems. This course includes 20 hours of online-live training (or onsite), a course outline, examples, exercises, quizzes, assignments, final exam and a certificate of completion.

Advanced Solar Power Systems I (EE201). (30hrs)

The EE201 intensive training course is designed to help individuals understand advanced topics of photovoltaic systems. It covers a wide range of topics, including: site analysis, system sizing, array configuration, and performance estimation; electrical design characteristics such as wiring, overcurrent protection and grounding; a detailed look at module, charge controller, battery and inverter specifications and characteristics; mounting methods for various roof structures and ground­mounts; troubleshooting and maintenance; using software & programs to design PV systems; and an introduction to safely and effectively commissioning PV systems.

Photovoltaic Systems Lab (EE203). (20hrs)

The EE203 intensive training lab. is designed to put the classroom theory into practice with the ultimate hands-­on PV experience available. It offers trainees the opportunity to work closely with experienced PV professionals and engineers. You will gain valuable insight and experience while installing and commissioning multiple PV systems consisting of modules, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, BOS and racking components from a wide range of manufacturers that are all big players in the PV industry. This lab. includes 20 hours of hands-on training , a course outline, examples, exercises, quizzes, assignments, final exam and a certificate of completion.

Course Pass Grade: 80%

Important Note: Students who do not pass 80% can retake the final exam after paying $30 exam fee.

About the Instructor:

Taleb H. Al-theanat

Taleb H. Al-theanat. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He received his M.S. degree in electrical engineering and renewable energy from the University of Bridgeport, USA with a 4.0 GPA out of 4.0 (with first class honors).

He is currently the MENA Director at GIEE and Research Scientist at the Nanotechnology Institute at Jordan University of Science & Technology. From 2014 to 2016, he was a Graduate Assistant with the faculty of engineering at the University of Bridgeport. He was Planning Engineer at Eversource Energy Co. in Westwood, MA, USA. He is an instructor at the Global Institute of Electrical Engineering (GIEE). He is the author of one book and more than 8 articles. He is a GIEE Certified Photovoltaic Systems Professional (CPSP). His current research interests: Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Systems, Photovoltaic Systems, Electric Power, Protection and Distribution Systems, Power Electronics, Microgrid and Smart Grid.

Mr. Al-theanat is a member of the Global Institute of Electrical Engineering (GIEE), the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Jordan Engineers Association (JEA), Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society.

Mr. Al-theanat awards and honors include a Certificate of Accomplishment, University of Bridgeport, May 6, 2017, Love of Learning Award, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society on November 14, 2016, AAAEA 10th Annual Scholarship on November 13, 2016 and the University of Bridgeport Electrical Engineering (M.S) Academic Achievement Award in May 2016.
